Lord Hunt's visit to the World Gas Conference (14/10/2009)
Lord Hunt, the Minister of State at the Department of Energy and Climate Change visited Argentina from 5-7 October. During his visit he engaged with Argentine Ministers with responsibility for Environment, Climate Change and Energy as well as a cross-section of business and opinion-formers on the UK’s vision for a low carbon/high growth economy and international negotiations ahead of Copenhagen.
At the World Gas Conference, the Minister articulated the UK’s views on energy supply security and the important role gas will have in the transition to a low carbon economy. The Minister also visited the joint SBGI (former known as the Society of British Gas Industries) and UK Trade & Investment stand at the World Gas Exhibition, meeting with UK companies exhibiting their products and services and promoting UK Energy Excellence.
In addition to Lord Hunt’s visit, Samir Brikho, CEO of AMEC plc and Chairman of the Board of UK Energy Excellence, visited Buenos Aires to promote UK Energy Excellence and met with a cross-section of Argentine energy companies.
