The problem of tax and social security evasion (19/10/2007)
"The problem of tax and social security evasion in our country is a scourge that persists through time", said Martín Nessi, Chief Researcher at Argentine NGO Unidos por la Justicia.
In the context of the projects "Current progress in money-laundering investigations” and “Tax and social security evasion”, NGO Unidos por la Justicia staged on Thursday 17 October at La Rural the launch of two publications, both resulting from the research carried out by a group of expert from Unidos por la Justicia.
The launch event was headed by two leading researchers from the NGO, Martín Nessi and Miguel Kessler. Judges Patricia Llerena and Carlos Mahiques took part as panellists. The event was also attended by Judicial and Executive authorities, representatives of other NGOs and enforcement officers from the banking sector.
According Martín Nessi, the problem of tax and social security obligations evasion in our country is a scourge that persists through time, as the successive laws that have been passed over the years to penalise it have been unable to put things right.
Both publications were possible thanks to the support of the British Embassy and its international co-operation programme.
